2016 Peacock's Fan Clare Valley Malbec

The Clare Valley has a long history of growing wine grapes stretching back to 1840 and is now home to many world-renowned wines. Their Malbec is often hidden in blends, adding deep blueberry fruit and refreshing acidity alongside a wonderful floral note. 

Winemaker Elena Brooks let this fabulous grape variety shine alone, ageing it in a mixture of older French and American oak to give it complexity and to temper the tannic structure but not to dominate the flavour.

A rich and full bodied red wine with flavours of mulberry and blueberry, hints of tobacco and violets, balanced by fine acidity and firm tannins. 

A powerful wine that demands food such as grilled lamb chops, juicy steaks or hearty stews. This fabulous grape variety shines alone, with a powerful complexity and balance.
